Garrett! Senior Portraits

Class of 2013!

So it's that time of year! The weather is getting warmer and bathing suits and Popsicles are making their appearance in the stores again! Which means its almost summer! And for a lot of high schoolers, that means Graduation is here!!! Let's hear it for the Class of 2013!
Meet Garrett! He is a High School Senior! I've known him for quite some time so when his mom, Kara, asked me about Senior Portraits, I was so excited! But I also felt so old! The little boy I knew from way back when is old enough to graduate?! But that's how it always goes doesn't it, parents?
Garrett was so fun to work with! He was so trustworthy towards me when I'd say "can you squat here?" I know it was uncomfortable for a few seconds, but the end result was worth it!
Thank you for being so fun and easy to work with Garrett and Kara!

"This is Water" : A New Way of Thinking

So as, you all know, I have created a project (The Natural Beauty Project) that covers topics like bullying to self worth. Well, I saw this video (below) a couple of days ago. It's very interesting way of thinking. But its also 100% true. I'm always thinking that everyone has trials their overcoming, battles their fighting right now that I have no knowledge about. So I try to smile at strangers or just be kinder in my doings. And after I saw this video, I was so glad I wasn't alone in this thinking. I have witnessed a lot of trials in my life time, and so have you. We have all felt the despair a failed class brings, or death of a loved one, or even just a bad day. We have all felt it; every single one of us. And so this brings the question forward in my brain; "If everyone of  us is battling through a hard time in life, then why must we be so rude, or impatient or ignore the strangers or friends we see day in and day out?" I have asked myself this question for years and there is still not an answer good enough to suffice. I have experienced things in a way no one else has. You have experienced things in a way no one has has. But we have all felt the same way at one point or another.
So here is what I propose: We need to be kinder to the lady at the checkout stand at the grocery store. If you pass by someone you don't know, stop looking at your feet and say "hello!" or just a smile! You honestly don't know what anyone is going through and your smile could be a turning point.
Have you ever talked to someone you've never met for just a few minutes and as they walk away it feels like they kissed your face? You just felt so much love radiating from them through their kind words and energy it feels like they just came up to you and gave you a big hug?  Lets be 'that person' for everyone else. Because we have all been down in the dumps due to bad days that seem to be going on forever or battles in our personal  lives that are just too hard to handle sometimes.

So please, next time your running errands, or at work or school, just see people for what they are; which is a person fighting battles we have no knowledge of. Put it into perspective, and share the love I know you all have bursting to come out.

The Egg of the Phoenix

Meet my friend Morgen! She's a lot of fun! We had a fun time taking these pictures! Climbing hills and boulders, treking through feilds, and gross bugs! Blegh! But ALL of that payed off. I am in love with these
photos. I hope you enjoy!
Thank you, Morgen!!!

Dancing in the Rain

Some times it rains really hard and you just gotta put a skirt on and dance in it.
And take pictures. I mean, who would I be if I didn't take pictures?!
Also; yes, I am blond now.
Happy Tuesday, lovelies.

Mermaid Beauty

This is my friend, Danielle! She is really into makeup art so she came up with the fabulous idea of doing a Mermaid themed photo shoot! Mix her makeup skills and my photography hobby, and you get this shoot! I had so much fun!! I love to take unconventional photos of people and I love it most of all when people are liking the ideas that are thrown out there! (No matter how crazy I sound!) I told Danielle I'd be pouring glitter all over her to really emphasize the mermaid look! She was so excited to get down and dirty! (Or in this case, wet and glittery!) We all had so much fun creating these photos! I hope you enjoy, 'Mermaid Beauty'!

Now for some 'Not so glamorous' Behind the Scenes video footage and snapshots!
